Packs and pieces at the same time
Wholesalers sell packs but hold pieces. Unless the pack ratio is defined on the style, every pack order needs a manual translation into size quantities, and every translation is a chance to oversell one size.
- Ratio defined once per style and reused on every order
- Pack orders resolving into size-level stock movements
- Lot references kept so shade differences are visible to the buyer
Reservation is what prevents double promises
When two buyers are looking at the same style, the only protection is that confirming the first one immediately reduces what the second one can be promised. That is reservation, and it has to happen at the moment of confirmation.
Dispatch speed is an inventory feature
Packing lists, carton details and invoices generated from the confirmed order remove the retyping stage - which is usually the real bottleneck at volume, not the sale itself.
Takeaway
Define pack ratios once, reserve on confirmation, keep lots visible, and generate dispatch paperwork from the order.
